The Freedom Fund Award Ceremony commemorates the hardworking efforts of community leaders that are making a difference within the Baltimore County area. The Annual Freedom Fund Ceremony is a special event where we acknowledge the noteworthy service of these leaders within our community.
The NAACP Freedom Fund began in 1953 (on a national level) as a ten-year program to intensify efforts to complete the job of emancipation. Almost 70 years later, the NAACP has continued to keep the Freedom Fund tradition alive through Freedom Fund events hosted by various branches throughout the United States. This exemplifies the nation wide determination of the NAACP members to maintain the legacy.
Join us as we celebrate several community activists and leaders in our community that have demonstrated their dedication in making a difference by addressing the social issues within in our county.
